I was looking out of my hotel window at the highway below. I was thinking about all of the places those people must be trying to go. Even though I was supposed to be on the field with my team already, I tried to keep a positive outlook on everything. Although this particular night, it seemed to be a little extra hard.

I’m thankful for a team that understands the power of worship and connection because just when everything started to get the best of me, my team video called me. They were at a worship night and wanted to include me! As praise filled the room, tears filled my eyes, and God filled my heart. God was speaking beautiful things to me, so I thought I should write it down in the most beautiful way I know how: poetry.

1,800 miles away,

Yet I got to worship with them tonight.

Seeing their passion while they praise

Is really quite a sight.

I can see the stars from here.

I can feel the light.

Yes, the warmth of your spirit

I can feel it despite.

Despite being across the world

I can feel you here.

Even when I am far,

You are near.

Even when things are uncertain,

Your presence is clear.

~ God > Distance

I’m getting retested tomorrow to see if I’m Covid free. Hopefully, the results show I get to join my team for their next worship night. If not, I still know I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.
